The mission of the choral society is to provide for its members an atmosphere that promotes learning and enjoyment of choral music and to provide for our audiences superior performances of choral music.

Approximately only one-fifth of the current membership are charter members, having been with the choir since its beginning in 1986. Over half of the current choir members, however, have joined since 2000. Since 1986, over 500 people have been active, dues-paying members. Membership is open to anyone with choral experience who loves to sing and who is willing to be dedicated and committed to the LACS Family.

LACS honors past member by granting emeritus member status.  Prospective honorees are nominated by their sections and must be approved by the full board.  Years of service and dedication are considered.
